Clockwork Orange
How should I read A Clockwork Orange?
I began reading A Clockwork Orange by printing out a five page glossary of all the Nadsat words. After a single page of reading than flipping through the glossary I can already tell that this will be an interruption to the flow that of the story. My question is should I read without the glossary and use context clues to guess at what the author meant or go back to interrupting myself?
Does the slang taper off at any point?
Read over the glossary first, then just start reading. Only refer to the glossary when a word seems really important to the context. Believe it or not, if you let it flow you start to get the greater context of what they are saying, and the slang lessens a bit as you go along.
