How do you get original work filed in the Library of Congress?
Last December, I applied for copyright protection for three compositions which I wrote last year.
The address of the copyright office was at the Library of Congress.
Does that mean that the scores for my three compositions are now on file in the Library of Congress?
If not, how do I do it?
It takes about six months to receive it, however, you should have received confirmation already. The fee has gone up to $45. Congratulations and much success on the completion of your compositions. I just sent 5 of my own arias off a few weeks ago.

Inspection and copying of completed records and indexes
relating to a registration or a recorded document and inspection
of copies or identifying material deposited in connection
with a completed copyright registration may be undertaken
in the Certifications and Documents Section upon
payment of the appropriate fee. Since some of the materials
are not stored on the immediate premises of the Copyright
Office, it is advisable to consult with the Certifications and
Documents Section in advance to determine the length of
time necessary to produce the required materials.
Requests for searches of recordations in the completed
catalogs and indexes of the Copyright Office should be
addressed to:
